Front Harness + Dry Bag UL
Harness and seam-sealed dry bag which attaches under your handle bars. The double-ended tube-style dry bag can be attached/removed quickly and easily while leaving the harness in place. This system is great for multi-sporters or adventure racers who need to be able to add/remove bags frequently at transitions.
Weights: harness 165g, 11L dry bag 80g, 14L dry bag 88g.
Easy Loading
The handlebar harness features a 3 strap system to allow easy loading of the dry bag - the centre strap holds the balanced load, while you tension the two outer straps for a secure fit.
Versatile
The handlebar harness has been specifically designed for use with the dry bag, but can also be used for any suitable tube shaped item, such as a tent. It can also easily be paired with the Cafe Bag UL - the ideal companion for valuables and important items you want to keep close and convenient at stops.
Internal organisation
ROBO-KIWI recommends using Sea to Summit Ultra-Sil dry sacks for additional waterproofing and internal organisation.
Made in New Zealand
All ROBO-KIWI bikepacking bags are proudly designed and made in New Zealand from a range of quality technical fabrics.
Hybrid Dyneema® Composite Fabric
Hybrid Dyneema® Composite Fabric (formerly Cuben Fiber) is a patented, ultra-lightweight fabric made of flexible non-woven composite laminates which are reinforced with Dyneema® fibres.
DCF is costly and for good reason. It's 15x stronger than steel and provides the highest tear and tensile strength of any competing fabric on a weight-by-weight and thickness basis.
The hybrid variant of DCF is a 2-layer laminate material combining a thin DCF layer with a polyester plain-weave face fabric, which adds strength and makes the material look more like a traditional woven fabric.
It is our fabric of choice for products that demand high performance durability and the absolute best in ultra-lightweight, waterproof fabric.
Precision Laser-cut Harness
ROBO-KIWI harnesses have been specifically designed to be used with our dual-ended dry bags, but can also be used with other similarly shaped and sized items such as tents.
High-quality laser cut base plates have been designed with cutouts in all the right places for attaching various accessories, providing additional flex where needed and saving weight where possible without compromising strength. Our harnesses are durable, easy to clean, will not absorb much water when wet and protect the dry bag from accidental tyre rubbing. They provide a secure fit to your handlebars and dry bag for the best riding performance and ease of use.
Ultra Light Dry Bags
Roll-top end closures ensure a secure and tight load. While the bags are seam-sealed and waterproof for the purpose of bike packing (brief submersion, eg. river crossings, deep puddles, torrential rain, etc.), prolonged submersion could result in water wicking through the velcro closures. The dry bag is not recommended for kayaking, rafting or water-based sports.
Colour-coded end closures
Dual ended closures allow you to access items from both ends while it is on the bike. Blue and black coloured webbing makes it easier to remember which end is which.
Visibility
Highly reflective logos keep you visible from all directions at night.
Customisable Fit
0-40mm EVA foam spacers on the harness adjust to fit around gear and brake cables for most handlebar configurations
Hypalon® tabs and reinforcement patches
Hypalon® tabs and reinforcement patches provide both a secure anti-slip fit and protection for your bike frame.
What to put in it
This harness and bag system is ideal for spare clothing and other items which need to be kept dry. It can also be used to carry overnight food, cooker, etc.
How to pack it
1. Attach the empty harness to your handle bars, positioning the foam spacers and straps carefully around your gear cables and brake lines (to ensure they’re not bent out of shape and function correctly). Clip the lower retainer strap around the bottom of the head tube. Tighten all straps for a secure fit.
2. Pack the tube dry bag tightly, rolling the ends firmly, then insert into the harness and tighten all the straps. The harness remains in place when you remove the dry bag, allowing for quick transitions.

ROBO-KIWI ULTRA LIGHT is our bag solution that goes all-out to create the lightest possible version of our products, while still maintaining functionality and durability. Excess weight is cut wherever possible. We use a hybrid Dyneema® Composite Fabric (formerly Cuben Fiber), smaller buckles, narrower straps, stream-lined laser cut components, etc, etc.
The ultra light solution isn’t right for everyone. If you want bike bags so durable that you’ll be able to pass them down to your grandchildren, there are plenty of bag manufactures to choose from. If you want bags that have been shown to go the distance while saving significant weight over a standard bike packing setup, ROBO-KIWI ULTRA LIGHT is for you!
For the standard model, check out the Front Harness + Dry Bag.
If you'd like to go even lighter than our Ultra Light Model, please contact us to discuss your requirements. There are a few extra tricks we can employ on custom setups to save a few grams here and there and if you are willing to make a few key trade-offs we can make significant extra weight savings.
