Rear Harness + Dry Bag XP
Saddle harness and seam-sealed dry bag which attaches under your seat. The tapered dry bag can be attached/removed quickly and easily while leaving the harness in place. This system is great for multi-sporters or adventure racers who need to be able to add/remove bags frequently at transitions.
Secure Loading
The saddle harness features a 7 strap system to allow secure loading of the dry bag - the two centre straps hold the dry bag in, the main tension straps hold it securely to the seat post while the two additional side straps attach directly to the dry bag and completely prevents sagging.
Versatile
The saddle harness and dry bag have been specifically designed to be used together. Opposing buckles on the dry bag clip to matching buckles on the harness, but can also be clipped to each other when the dry bag is removed from the harness to be used as a handle.
Internal organisation
ROBO-KIWI recommends using Sea to Summit Ultra-Sil dry sacks for additional waterproofing and internal organisation.
Made in New Zealand
All ROBO-KIWI bikepacking bags are proudly designed and made in New Zealand from a range of quality technical fabrics.
Underside Mounting Loops
Additional mounting loops on the underside of the harness allow you to attach a second bungee cord for additional gear storage (size medium and large only).
X-Pac laminated ripstop fabric
X-Pac is a composite fabric comprised of multiple layers laminated into a single sheet. Lightweight, durable, UV-resistant and waterproof, X-Pac is a highly technical fabric ideal for bikepacking bags.
X-Pac Fabric Colours
With a large range of external fabric and trim colours to choose from, you're spoilt for choice! Choose a unique combination that matches your bike or contact us for a completely custom look.
Dropper-post compatibility
The harness should be able to attach to the seat-post without issue, provided care is taken when fitting the seat-post strap and there is sufficient clearance to the rear tyre (at full suspension compression where applicable). Please take into account the under-seat to tyre clearance when ordering.
Secure 'anti-sway' fit
ROBO-KIWI seat harnesses and dry bags feature a unique 7 strap system, ensuring a smooth ride without 'tail wag', while providing an adjustable fit to your bike. The dry bag clips directly to the harness with tension straps pulling the load up and away from your wheel.
Reflective Bungee Cords
External bungee cord, quick-release hooks and toggles keep your kit convenient, secure and safe. Ideal for stashing and accessing spare gear while riding.
Side Padding & Protection
Closed cell foam laminated to the external fabric protects your bike frame and provides structure.
Waterproof Dry Bags
Velcro closures allow for easy removal of excess air to ensure a secure and tight load. While the bags are seam-sealed and waterproof for the purpose of bike packing (brief submersion, eg. river crossings, deep puddles, torrential rain, etc.), prolonged submersion could result in water wicking through the velcro closures. The dry bag is not recommended for kayaking, rafting or water-based sports.
Hypalon® reinforcement patches
Hypalon® reinforcement patches provide strap adjustment options, increased grip and protection for your bike frame.
Visibility
Highly reflective logos keep you visible from all directions at night.
What to put in it
This harness and bag system is ideal for spare clothing and other items which need to be kept dry. It can also be used to carry overnight food, cooker, etc.
How to pack it
Attach the empty harness to your seat, clipping the side clips through the seat rails and fastening the velcro around your seat post. Pack the tapered dry bag, roll the top so that it’s nice and tight, then insert into the harness and tighten all the straps. The harness remains in place when you remove the dry bag, allowing for quick transitions.
